Hilary Carter is the Director of Faculty at the Blockchain Research Institute, a Canadian-based global think-tank co-founded by Don Tapscott and Alex Tapscott. Hilary has built a team of more than 50 thought leaders in blockchain technology to conduct the definitive investigation into blockchain applications, use cases, and strategy, world-wide. Hilary’s career began in financial services where she worked in a number of divisions including Retail Brokerage, Corporate Finance, Research and Analysis, and ultimately as an Officer at UBS in Global Private Banking. Inspired by great storytelling and mobile communications apps, Hilary transitioned to communications consulting where she worked closely with senior executives in the implementation of digital communications strategies. Her fascination with blockchain technology stems from her mutual interests in global value exchange, communications, and all things digital. Hilary has several opinion pieces published in The Globe and Mail on topics such as digital leadership, employee advocacy, and most recently, on blockchain technology. She is currently researching blockchain’s transformation of Social Media networks for the Blockchain Research Institute. Hilary is a graduate of the London School of Economics and one of the few women to earn the Certified Bitcoin Professional designation.
